Harper Lee passes away aged 89

Harper Lee, most famous for writing ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ and ‘Go Set A Watchmen’, has passed away aged 89. She grew up in Alabama in the U.S. at a time when her surroundings were rife with racial tension, and hence wrote ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ which won the Pulitzer Prize, granted her many honorary degrees and has now become a staple of modern literature. The story was inspired by her father, a lawyer who once defended two black men who were accused of robbing a white shopkeeper.
