Carers for people with dementia do not get enough support

Approximately 90% of carers for people with dementia have feelings of stress or anxiety several times per week, and 80% find it difficult to talk about how being a carer impacts them emotionally. The Alzheimer’s Society in collaboration with the Oxford Health NHS Trust are launching a research trial to test the efficiency of online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) as a way of alleviating the pressure that carers often feel.
