WHO declares Zika outbreak to be a global emergency

The World Health Organisation has declared that the Zika virus outbreak is now a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). The spread of the virus has lead to a surge of babies with microencaphly, particularly in South America. Pregnant women in Brazil have previously been urged not try conceiving and foreigners have been told not travel for the Olympics if they are pregnant.
