What do you think about the term ‘a well groomed woman’

Global women connected 8-Signs-of-Well-Groomed-Woman-This summer I have heard the term ‘a well groomed woman’ used many times.  What does this mean? It seems to mean a woman who has obviously spent time on her appearance but it concerns me that this description seems to be applied to women who have done their nails, wear make-up, have immaculate hair, wear smart clothes and heels.  On the other hand a woman who wears casual clothes, no make up and does not do her hair is scruffy.  Is it important to be a well-groomed woman?

When looking for inspiration for this post I found this list on a web site called www.sheloogood.com – 8 signs of a well groomed woman.

  1. Beautiful Hair: There are two main components of the beautiful hairstyle: the right hairstyle and quality care. The head should always be clean and well-groomed.
  2. A successful Hairstyle: Sophisticated styling is not required. Simplicity is always relevant. Light waves, soft curls or straightened hair are appropriate in any situation.
  3. Perfect Skin: On clean skin a woman can spend less time make-up, so you will need to clean and moisturize.
  4. Eyebrows: To correct their form should be at least 2 times a week. Unkempt eyebrows are visible immediately.
  5. Make-up: It is better that he was a natural as is suitable for any occasion. Also one of the main principles – the emphasis should be done either on the eyes or lips.
  6. Light Tan: In summer, the skin should be at least a little bronze. Tan is associated with health and well-groomed. In addition, it improves the appearance of skin.
  7. Hand: If you can not make a perfect manicure, better not to paint your nails but they should be well shaped and healthy.
  8. Well-groomed woman always picks up the image as appropriate.

The text goes on to say ‘And finally the nails, Nails should be done regularly – a rule that can not be broken!.”  It made me laugh!

And on the elegant woman web site – their number two priority is facial hair “Hair around the lips must be removed at all times. And in between the eyebrows – if you’re monobrowed.”

Do you think we need to be well-groomed women?  Does it mean that we have to have to be plucked, painted and wear uncomfortable clothes?  Do you feel under pressure to be a perfectly turned out woman?
