Do women drink too much alcohol?

I was driving through London on Friday night and saw a very drunk woman, weaving her way down the street. She was totally out of it and it was worrying that she was on her own.
The way girls and women are drinking alcohol has two main issues: women who drink alcohol every day and those who binge drink until they are very drunk.
Women should keep within the recommended guidelines of no more than 14 units per week which includes several alcohol free days as this keeps your risk low. A glass of wine contains 2.3 units of alcohol.

Drinking alcohol is not good for your health and increases the risk of 7 types of cancer, including breast, mouth and bowel), strokes, heart disease, liver disease and damage to the brain and nervous system. The rate of people attending A&E with probable alcohol poisoning (usually as a result of binge drinking) has doubled in six years. And there is growing concern about even moderate drinking when pregnant.
And it ages us.
We all know that everything should be in moderation. So are women drinking too much?
