Young adults

Share this:

GWC ContraceptionAll the techniques we have suggested here are suitable for teenagers except for sterilization. Teenagers and young adults are very fertile so it is important they use one of the highly effective methods of contraception at all times. It is important to realise that sperm is released from the penis even before ejaculation, so sex should not occur unless contraception is being used throughout intercourse. This is also the reason the withdrawal method is ineffective. Another issue is the risk of contracting asexually transmitted infection, so it is recommended that teenagers and young adults use a barrier method of contraception to prevent the transmission of an STI, even if the female is using one of the hormone methods of contraception (such as the pill or injection). All STIs are serious and any sexually active person should get regular checks at an STI clinic. Some STIs can make you infertile, such as chlamydia.
